The Hype Is Right: Senior Exhibition

For my senior thesis class, I chose to write about the sneaker resale market and the factors that give some sneakers their value. When it came time to turn my thesis into an exhibit, I chose to create an interactive game based on “The Price Is Right” but with sneaker prices. The game was produced in Figma with some elements designed in Adobe Illustrator.

Ideation

I started this project with some sketches and digital roughs

Production

After establishing a visual direction, I started designing assets for the prototype.

Next, I started designing in Figma. I began by establishing the content and then added micro-interactions afterwards. The content for the game are all on one page while the components are on a separate page.

Exhibit Design

Once the Figma prototype was taken care of, it was time to produce the exhibit. The ideation for the exhibit was done before and during the production of the Figma prototype. I wanted my exhibit to have two perpendicular walls and carpet in order for visitors to feel more immersed into the experience.

For one of the walls, I wanted to lean into the motif of the sneaker tags and display them in an appealing way. For the other wall, I wanted it to be branded and have distance appeal, enticing viewers to come and interact with the exhibit.

Final Product

The exhibit walls were mounted onto foam core and then mounted onto the walls using Command strips and pins. Turf was rolled onto the floor to add to the experience and the game was displayed onto a TV screen to give more of a grand feeling, like the user is on a game show.
